Community Communications Lead

APPLY

Cubic Games is a game development studio within the GDEV holding. Our mission is to make games people keep coming back to for years. We created Pixel Gun 3D, one of the most popular pixel shooters, with 300M+ downloads and over 5M monthly players. In 2026 we released Pixel Gun 2.

Small team. Big games. We’re building a new kind of studio. AI is built into our key processes and takes care of the routine, while a small team of experienced specialists owns the decisions, ideas and quality. Everyone owns their area: they propose goals and an approach, align them with their manager, and see the results of their work in a product played by millions.

We combine the stability of a studio within a large holding with the energy of a startup. We make decisions fast while keeping the quality checks that matter. We discuss work openly and respectfully, trust expertise, and back ideas that deliver measurable results.

About the role:

Cubic Games is looking for a community communications lead for a defining moment in Pixel Gun 3D's life. Players have loved the game for more than ten years, with over 300 million downloads and more than 5 million players every month. Now we are reworking long-standing parts of the experience and shipping changes no player will miss.

You will understand communities as living ecosystems and use that to rebuild how we talk to ours: honest about old frustrations, clear about where the game is going and why, and alive rather than scripted. At Pixel Gun 3D, community is part of the product, so you will work directly with the producer and the product team and help decide what we say, where, and when. Nobody will hand you a task list: you will bring the plan, and automation handles the routine.

Responsibilities:

Communication Strategy

  • Define how Pixel Gun 3D speaks to its players across every channel, and tie each choice to a product goal.

  • Work out how each channel and format affects engagement, retention, and revenue, and use that to decide what to emphasize.

  • Turn upcoming releases, updates, and major changes into communication plans before anyone asks for one.

  • Follow where our players spend their time, who competes with us for their attention, and which collaborations are worth pursuing.

  • Set goals and success measures for player communication, and report on what they show.

Player Voice and Product Partnership

  • Act as the player's advocate in product planning, bringing sentiment, feedback, and community signals into decisions early.

  • Know the roadmap well enough to propose how and when to announce each change, and what each audience will care about.

  • Keep the game's voice authentic, clear, and consistent across every channel.

  • Plan responses to sensitive or fast-moving situations, including creator controversies and waves of negative feedback.

  • Turn community conversations into clear insights the team can act on.

Channels, Community, and Automation

  • Take ownership of social media from day one: set up and run Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X, Threads, Facebook, and Discord.

  • Design community programs, events, and creator partnerships that deepen relationships with players.

  • Build and refine the automation behind community and social work on our existing release and orchestration infrastructure, so routine publishing and monitoring run without manual effort.

  • Make sure what already works keeps working while you rebuild the rest.

  • Measure results through participation, sentiment, engagement, and impact on product metrics.

Team and Collaboration

  • Work directly with the Pixel Gun 3D producer and product team, so community shapes how decisions are made.

  • Lead day-to-day work with our community manager, and grow the team only when your strategy shows it is needed.

  • Partner with Marketing, Development, and Design to align priorities, messaging, and plans.

  • Represent players in conversations with leadership.

Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years in community management, social media, communications, or a related field, ideally in games or another consumer product. We care more about what you have owned than how long you have done it, so if your track record is exceptional, tell us.

  • A real understanding of how communities work: who is in them, what they value, where tension builds, and what a good conversation looks like.

  • A track record of connecting a product with its audience, with examples where communication moved an engagement or business metric.

  • Experience setting community or social strategy and carrying it out yourself.

  • Hands-on experience using AI and automation to run community and social work at scale, with working examples you can show. Ideas and quality stay with you.

  • A strong understanding of gaming audiences and how they behave.

  • Experience handling sensitive community situations.

  • Ability to work independently, set your own priorities, and lead through ambiguity.

  • Strong written and spoken English.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with Discord administration and moderation.

  • Experience with free-to-play mobile games and large audiences.

  • Experience launching or running a game on PC or Steam.

  • Experience working with creators and influencers.

  • Familiarity with bots, no-code tools, or scripting.

  • Familiarity with social listening and sentiment analysis tools.

  • Familiarity with Pixel Gun 3D or shooters.

What we offer:

  • Option for remote work or the opportunity to visit our office in Armenia or Cyprus at your convenience.

  • Official registration according to the Labor Code of Armenia or Cyprus, or a service contract.

  • Fully transparent salary, vacation of 21 working days, 3 additional days off per year and additional sick pay up to 100%.

  • Voluntary Health Insurance (VHI) in Armenia or Cyprus from the first working day.

  • Support for professional development and the chance to participate in workshops and masterclasses within the department.

  • Engaging in corporate events, both online and offline, along with presents for various holidays.
