Lead LiveOps Game Designer
APPLY
Cubic Games is a game development studio and part of the GDEV holding. We have grown from a small team into a leading game development studio with over 140 professionals. Our mission is to create unique pixel-style games, including the popular Pixel Gun 3D, which attracts over 3 million monthly players.
We're looking for an experienced LiveOps Lead for Pixel Gun 2, a new cross-platform shooter — someone who doesn't just launch offers and events, but designs the system behind them: targeting logic, segmentation, and a clear rationale for every decision. Someone who understands why players buy, and knows how to turn that understanding into mechanics that deliver results.
Responsibilities
- Own the offer system. Design an architecture that enables flexible audience targeting, fast iteration, and hypothesis testing. Configurable and scalable by default.
- Own the event system and its monetization mechanics; integrate them into the overall model.
- Define offer composition. Not "which skin" — but pricing strategy, purchase motivation, segments, and target audience for each placement. Every offer needs a clear answer: why this bundle, at this price, for this segment, in this spot.
- Contribute to monetization model forecasting. Evaluate the impact of events and LiveOps features on KPIs; expand the model accordingly.
- Generate creative customization ideas — trend-aware and within defined narrative constraints.
- Prepare clear, production-ready asset requests for monetization content.
- Design and run A/B tests, read results, and translate them into product decisions.
Requirements
- Systems thinking and architecture. Ability to design a flexible, scalable system from scratch: targeting, segmentation, configurability, testability. This is the primary requirement.
- Deep understanding of F2P monetization. Pricing, offer structure and logic, payer segmentation, purchase psychology.
- Experience with complex monetization models and understanding how individual features and events affect KPI forecasts.
- A/B test design and analysis. Define a hypothesis, design a valid test, interpret results, draw conclusions.
- Creative ability. Generating customization ideas, trend awareness, working within defined narrative constraints.
- Asset request writing — clear, complete, and production-friendly.
- Analytics fluency. Comfortable working with metrics and interpreting them in the context of player behavior.
- Design-first mindset. Plan and justify before launching. A reactive profile ("ship fast, collect metrics later") is not a fit.
- First-principles thinking about player behavior. Understanding why players act the way they do — not just what the metrics show. Metrics follow a hypothesis about motivation, not the other way around.
- Attention to detail. Ability to justify every parameter of an offer or test — no "that goes without saying."
- High-density communication. Specific, well-reasoned answers without filler; no need to extract every detail separately.
- Proactivity. Anticipate the consequences of decisions before launch.
